Hi All!

It’s Morgan here, and I’m overjoyed to share some big news this week—we’re expecting our fourth boy, James Murphy, due this January! This little one, named after my husband’s grandfather, feels like the perfect addition to our crew, and I can hardly believe we’re just months away from meeting him. Four is our magic number, and I’m savoring every moment of what will likely be our last pregnancy

Life is about to get busy, as my husband’s job has us slated to move for his next post. But with perfect timing, I’ll be due right around then, so we’ve decided to pause the move. Instead, we’ll spend three wonderful months with my parents in San Diego while he takes paternity leave. This isn’t our first rodeo with this plan—two years ago, after our third son’s birth, we did the same, and it was the best experience. Surrounded by family, we soaked in the newborn days, and I can’t wait to relive that joy with James.

This journey to baby number four hasn’t been easy. We faced two miscarriages before this pregnancy—my first losses—and it’s been a rollercoaster I never expected. Being pregnant after a miscarriage is something many women don’t talk about, but it’s nerve-wracking. For the first half, around 21 weeks now, I’ve been holding my breath, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Completing the anatomy scan has lifted a huge weight, and I’m finally feeling confident, ready to enjoy this pregnancy. Sharing this feels vulnerable, but I hope it connects with others who’ve walked this path.

As a working mom and homeschooler, this time with family reinforces why I started BaseCampEd—to build a village for parents like us. Follow our journey on Instagram @BaseCampEdApp. The boys made the best volcano to erupt the color blue for the reveal. You can see it here.

And if you made it all the way to the end, thanks for being here! Your support means everything. If you ever have any questions, I am always a message away at contact@basecamped.com
